History: Built May 16, 1963. Code “J” Coupe DeVille. This is an unrestored original 1963 Cadillac. It’s a dry car – surface rust only on frame and undercarriage. ONLY REAL CADILLAC parts were ordered for options, repairs and maintenance items on this car. Recently driven from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Regina, Saskatchewan trouble free and with COLD Air Conditioning. Comes with original build sheet! Odometer reads 02285 miles.
Body: Straight, solid and dent free. Doors open and close nicely. #97 Fire Mist Saddle colour. Only one emblem was replaced – on the RH rear fender which is a reproduction badge from Caddy Daddy. New weather stripping. New back up light lenses.
Frame/Chassis/Suspension: Stock components in well maintained condition. New gas shocks. New ball joints and bushings. New leaf spring and coil springs.
Engine: Likely original or period correct 390 CID. Build sheet engine number ends with 354 and number on the block ends with 554 (mistake somewhere or different engine?). New Cadillac thermostat. New rear main seal and harmonic balancer seal. New water pump. New Cadillac gas and radiator cap. Engine was removed and painted with new seals and gaskets and engine bay was repainted as well.
Transmission: Rebuilt 3 speed automatic by Mr. Transmission in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Parts sourced from New Jersey and California.
Differential: Likely original with unknown gears.
Exhaust: Dual aluminized steel.
Brakes: Stock 4-wheel drums. New master cylinder.
Wheels: Factory steel 15 inch with Cadillac wheel covers.
Tires: COKER American Classic white walls 235 75R 15. 3 years old with maybe 2000 miles.
Interior: New head liner and carpet. New seat foam, vinyl and fabric matched perfectly to original from SMS Auto Fabrics in Oregon. Reupholstered by an old school craftsman with the correct/factory methods. New Cadillac ashtray bulb. Radio added from Caddy Daddy with Cadillac bezel and AM FM Bluetooth. Clock had quartz movement installed in Chicago for $800 – keeps perfect time.
Extras included: Original water pump and gas cap. Radio delete bezel. Original Dealer key fob for ignition key. Owners manual.
Options and Special Features: Power steering, brakes, windows and 3-way power seat. 3 factory options that were not ordered from the manufacturer have been added (from Caddy Daddy) – license plate frame, retractable chrome lap seat belts and the radio. Automatic dimmer on dash works.
Known issues: Needs new hinge pins on RH door. Loonie size paint chip on trunk lid. Light road rash under rockers. Some scratches in paint.
Reason for selling: Downsizing.
