1962 DODGE DART CONVERTIBLE
History: Oregon car was imported to Langley, BC and purchased 12 years ago. This is a RARE DODGE DART MODEL 440 convertible and has an Oregon Title. Original 318 car and now has a 70s block 440 stroker engine with a MAX WEDGE nostalgic feature! Pulls like a freight train, handles well and looks cool! Very low miles on the build.
Body: Super straight sheet metal with nice gaps and no evidence of filler. Doors open and close nicely. B5 blue paint. White vinyl top in good condition.
Frame/Chassis/Suspension: REILLY MOTORSPORTS – STREET LYNX front suspension with tubular A arms, coil overs and sway bar. Comes with NEW in the box matching triangulated 4-bar rear suspension kit (not installed). This kit has chrome moly rod ends and adjustable links. Can be set up for air ride or coil overs.
Engine: 440 (500 stroker) with 509 HP and 579 torque. 70s block with INDY heads. Forged 4.150 crank, H beam rods and .30 over dished pistons. Balanced rotating assembly. MILDON oil pump and pick up. COMP hydraulic roller camshaft and roller lifters. Billet timing set. INDY EZ 295 cylinder heads. ANA cross ram manifold. EAST COAST 160A alternator. ANA MAX WEDGE ceramic coated exhaust manifold. FAST EZ EFI throttle bodies. MSD ignition. High quality WIZARD aluminum radiator with variable speed eclectic fans. AEROMOTIVE variable speed fuel pump.
Trans: Rebuilt 727 automatic with B&M shifter. 16 BOLT SPRAG. TCS Master kit. ANA shift improver. TCS 10” convertor with 2800-3200 stall. GEAR VENDORS overdrive unit. Fan operated transmission cooler.
Differential: Original housing with NEW Posi 3.23 gears.
Exhaust: 3 inch dual aluminized steel with mufflers and resonators.
Brakes: WILWOOD disc front and rear.
Wheels: American Racing 5 spoke. Polished aluminum.
Tires: BF Goodrich front 215 70R 15 and rear 255 60R 15.
Interior: Beautifully done period correct white vinyl upholstery in excellent condition. Oil pressure and volt gauges with tach.
Extras included: 1 rust free RH front fender, dash instrument cluster, front and rear bumpers, hood, trunk lid, doors for both sides and 2 front very valuable grills. Full documentation and receipts.
Options and Special Features: Electric/hydraulic convertible top operation. Separate switches for Gear Vendor overdrive override, fuel pump override, cooling fans (variable speed) override and transmission cooler override. Original Chryco AM radio.
Known issues: Scrapes on top of steering column.
Reason for selling: Downsizing and thinning the herd.
