PRO BUILT CUSTOM 1958 MERCURY PARKLANE CONVERTIBLE
BIG MONEY BUILD – SHOW STOPPER
History: A family member spent $200K on this Custom convertible. The car is a work of Art in its raw form and now it’s even more beautiful after a professional frame off build by Kustom King in Spruce Grove, Alberta. The restoration started in 2003 and was completed in summer of 2007 after an EXTENSIVE and EXPENSIVE build. This is a rolling piece of history that you can drive. One VERY cool Custom Show Stopper.
Body: Professionally restored. Floor pans were replaced and the trunk floor were repaired. Refurbished sill plates. Straight body with flat paint. Period correct two-tone Slate Grey and Red paint. Major chrome plating and polishing process. Custom stainless convertible header panel (polished).
Frame/Chassis/Suspension: Stock rebuild including upgrades and new leaf springs.
Engine: Original engine was replaced with a 1964 Mercury 390 CID V8. Rebuilt by Fountain Tire in St. Alberta. Rebuilt rad with all new hoses. New distributor with rebuilt alternator (now a 12 volt system) and new starter motor. New intake and Holley 4-barrel carb.
Trans: C6 Automatic rebuilt by Fountain Tire in St. Albert, Alberta complete with servo relay interior-mounted control button.
Differential: Likely stock. Runs smooth and quiet at 110 km per hour.
Exhaust: New dual.
Brakes: Rebuilt stock.
Wheels: High end Kelly Hayes 15-inch wire wheels.
Tires: Coker Classics 215 75R 15 front and rear.
Interior: Beautiful Custom two tone period correct leather upholstery that tastefully matches the theme of the car. Front split bench seat.
Extras included: Extra chrome (hood letters) and jack.
Options and Special Features: Power steering and power brakes. Power convertible top. New gas tank. New weather stripping and all new rubber. Continental kit and fender skirts. Factory AM radio.
Known issues: This is a new build and needs some finishing in places. The continental kit latch needs an adjustment (scratch on continental as result). Passenger door needs latch adjustment. Convertible roof is sticking. Windshield wipers need work.
Reason for selling: Inherited. No need for it.
