1956 SERIES 62 CADILLAC Coupe de Ville
History: This one is the DELUXE Cadillac series #56-6237DX. It was an Estate sale in BC – purchased 3 years ago and then shipped to Alberta. Previous ownership and history prior to that is unknown. Car drives at 100 km per hour without rattles. Odometer reads 70,055 miles.
Body: The car is straight with decent gaps. Likely one repaint 25 years ago. Undercoated. Rocker trim in place. Windshield is good. “Goddess” hood ornament in place. Original “door flippers” on car plus extra rebuilt set included ($1000 value).
Frame/Chassis/Suspension: Stock components. Rebuilt steering box with new hi/lo power steering hoses. New pitman arm, ball joints, king pins and drag link installed with all associated parts. New shocks, alternator (generator look) belt, oil pressure and new temperature senders included. New battery and tray.
Engine: 365 CID 285 HP. New fuel pump on frame – original is in place (not working). Battery disconnect on rad support in engine compartment. Rebuilt Rochester carburetor. Tuned up with new ignition parts.
Transmission: Hydra-Matic automatic.
Differential: Likely original with unknown gears.
Exhaust: Dual steel.
Brakes: 4-wheel drum. New lines and hoses.
Wheels: Original steel 15 inch with Cadillac wheel covers.
Tires: Dunlop Elite 70 – 255 70R 15
Interior: Beautiful two-tone stock style and condition – see below for NEW components included. AM/FM blue tooth radio.
Extras included: Battery tender. Extra rubber front splash shields for inner fenders. Complete cab/window seals, weather stripping and rubber bumpers. Extra electric power window switches. Car cover. Extra “Goddess” hood ornament in good condition. Spare carburetor. New brake shoes. New carpet, headliner, sunshades and rear-view mirror. 6 new seat belts. Rebuilt fuel gauge and clock. Original tube radio. Windshield washer pump rebuild kit. Shop manual and some invoices.
Options and Special Features: Power steering, brakes, windows and antennae (not working). Autronic Eye auto head light dimming – recognizes oncoming headlights (not working). Rear bumper exhaust delete covers.
Known issues: Cracked drivers door glass. Coolant leak after driving the car. Engine and trans leaks mainly due to not driving the car. No power window switch on passenger door. Power antennae not working. Rust on lower body behind rear wheels. Some filler detected in rear quarters. Frame mounted fuel pump is a bit noisy. Rockers appear original and pass the magnet test but have perforation in some areas and a few rust bubbles. One rip in the head liner. Some orange peel in the paint. Small vibration at highway speeds – might be tire related or wheel balance. Some typical wind noise at highway speeds. Some steering wheel play and wonders a bit.
Reason for selling: Thinning the herd.
