History: This is a ground up build with attention to every detail. Amazing chop that looks just right! This reliable highway cruiser runs at 2100 rpm at highway speeds. Smooth handling and has surprising, impressive torque! 11,000 miles on the build.
Body: Subtle and tasteful 3-inch chop – looks good! Beautiful Wineberry Maroon with Stirling Silver base Metallic for a Candy style look. Frenched headlights and taillights. V-butt windshield. Dummy spotlights. Custom 1954 Chev grill with extra teeth. Black undercoating. Two power antennas. Cruiser skirts (different than stock fender skirts).
Frame/Chassis/Suspension: Kugel Komponents front suspension based on the Ford Mustang II platform with tubular A arms supplied and installed by Charlie’s Garage in Mesa, Arizona. Over $10,000 invested in the front end alone! Front coil over shocks and rear leaf springs with gas shocks. Rack and pinion power steering.
Engine: 292 CID FORD FLATHEAD by Dave Tatum of Tatum Custom Engines in Mt. Vernon, Washington. Magnuson-Eaton Super Charger. Intake was designed by Dave Robinson from California. Over $20,000 invested in the engine. Edelbrock 500 cfm carb. 275 HP at 4800 rpm. 300 ft lbs of torque at 3200 rpm. Edelbrock cylinder heads. Crank is alloy steel 9000 series. Rods are 5140 forged steel. Pistons are ROS forged 3 ring. Cam by Tatum 270 duration with .395 lift. Valves are stainless steel – 1.5 ported and relieved. Center main is a Tatum 4 bolt. Ignition by MSD. Electric fan. Never overheats even in Arizona high heat.
Trans: GM rebuilt 700R4 automatic with less than 500 miles.
Differential: Ford 9 inch. 3.50 Gear ratio.
Exhaust: Dual with removable cut out caps.
Brakes: Front disc and rear drum – all new components.
Wheels: Steel 15 inch with hubcaps on the front and beauty rings on the rear.
Tires: Suntec radials 205 75R 15
Interior: Complete custom with Thunderbird seats (front and rear) and custom console. “Ultra” leather. Digital gauges by Dakota Digital.
Extras included: Original 1949 Meteor grill, car cover, Full documentation of the engine build. Stock fender skirts. Front push bar with bumperettes plus rear bumperettes.
